The Warriors wrapped up a phenomenal season at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland. For the first time in more than a decade, Warrenton had a state champion. Colton Walker dominated at 106 lbs and capped an undefeated season at the weight. Justice Watson battled a wrist injury all season and fought through to take 4th place at 152 lbs. “It’s a long season and the time to come on strong is at the state tournament,” said Coach Conant “It was great watching those guys finish their high school careers that way.”Levi Lewis and Forrest Vaughn also qualified for the state tournament, at 170 and 195 lbs respectively. They ran into some tough competition, but more than proved themselves by making it further than anyone would have guessed when they started. As a team, Warrenton finished 14th. Our underclassmen will push us forward next year. Brian Sheppard, Brandon Williamson, Giovanni Martinez and Caden Hans will bring back experience and leadership.
